Been
wondering how to write the kind of online
dating profile that might help you find your soul mate?
Here’s a few key tips to get you started:
Be Original – Never forget that the guys and
girls looking at your profile have probably looked at dozens or maybe even
hundreds that week already. As such, if you’ve pretty much copied and pasted
the same old clichés used by everyone else, it’s not like your description of
yourself is going to win them over.
Beware Humor – You can of course put yourself
across as having a great sense of humor in your profile, but be careful when it
comes to using any kind of jokes in the profile itself. They might work, but
they might also prevent you from being taken seriously.
Be Honest – Lie your way through a dating
profile and it’s unlikely that you’re ever going to end up in the kind of relationship you’re looking for. The
reason being that it will only ever be a matter of time until you are rumbled
and found out to be dishonest, which immediately blows your chances.
Keep it Casual – Your eventual intent may be to find
a person to settle down with and have a dozen kinds, but put this in your
profile and you’ll come across as desperate and a little scary.
Stay Humble – Sure you need to sell yourself, but
don’t fall into the trap of making it sound way too arrogant and preachy…again,
this is a huge turnoff for readers.
